Total Control - Advanced Riding Clinic (ARC) - Level 1 and Level 2
In addition to our normal Track Day program, we now offer the Total Control ARC classes at some of our NH events.
The ARC classes are held at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway (www.NHMS.com)
Classes run rain or shine! Remember, we are teaching you to ride your motorcycle better and with more confidence - and riding in the rain is a fact of motorcycling. The basics of riding don't change in the wet, and once you master wet weather riding, you'll be a better all around rider.
Students of the ARC class on the first day are invited to do the Track Walk with us that evening, as well as join us for a Track Day on the second day (you must sign up for the trackday separately). We feel this will provide you with the most benefit as you will quickly be able to apply your new ARC skills at speed.

No matter what type of bike you ride; standard, sport bike, full dress tourer, or cruiser you will benefit from advanced training and increase your cornering confidence.
Instruction focuses on:
- Effective cornering techniques
- Precise throttle control
- Throttle-to-brake transitions (trail braking)
- Line selection
- Body position
- Mental attitude
- Suspension adjustment
- Corner exit
- Traction management
An enhanced understanding of riding principles will make the difference between being a regular rider and becoming the expert of your group. It may also make the difference between traveling safely through a corner or not. Total Control is a great way to prepare for your first track experience, tune up your track day cornering ability or move up to that elusive next group. Licensed racers also take this course to learn to be more consistent. Remember, that even the best riders in the world hire trainers to keep them at the top of their game.
All the techniques taught apply directly to the street as well by giving you a much bigger safety margin when the unexpected happens.
The Total Control ARC's Promises
The Total Control ARC is committed to making you a better and safer rider and in doing so makes these promises:
* Noticeable improvement in your riding. No matter what skill level you are now, the Total Control ARC will make a recognizable difference in your ability to control your bike.
* High teacher-to-student ratio. Each class is divided in groups with never more than six students per instructor for lots of individual attention and support.
* Friendly, professional service. The Total Control ARC instructors are highly trained and carefully handpicked for their teaching abilities and friendly dispositions. Your experience at the Total Control ARC will be a positive one.
* The ability to self-diagnose riding problems in the future. While it's great to be able to ride better in front of a skilled coach, it's equally important to be able to coach yourself when you detect a riding problem in the future.
There are enough support materials in our package to help make sure you won't forget what you learned during your training. With only six students per instructor, you'll get lots of individual coaching. Both theory and application (70 percent on bike) help you improve your skills substantially. In the Body Position portion of the class, you'll learn how simple physics affects your everyday riding. In the Suspension portion, you'll learn how to analyze your settings and how to make adjustments for maximum control or comfort or both. In Riding, you'll work on one riding skill at a time, building confidence in small 2-mph increments until you achieve the desired level of ability. This training builds from your starting point, whatever it may be.

All students must provide their own motorcycle and have at least one year of riding experience. For students with less than two years of experience, it is advised (though not required) that they have completed an MSF ERC.

There is no special tech inspection, but all motorcycles should be in proper working order, including tires, cooling, charging systems, and a battery that is in good condition. Absolutely no race tires or race compound tires allowed regardless if they are DOT approved. (Reason: Race tires are designed to grip at very high temperatures, generally only able to be reached after several laps on the racetrack. A non-race tire has more grip at "normal" riding temperatures.)
Protective gear is required for all students, which includes a DOT-approved helmet in good condition (full-face recommended), motorcycle jacket and motorcycle pants, full-fingered gloves, boots that cover the ankles and eye protection. Kevlar jeans or chaps are accepted. Jeans and fingerless gloves are not allowed.
We will adjust tire pressures as needed and do a quick safety inspection prior to Class start at 8am. Lunch is available for purchase at the track for $10 (cash only). Class ends about 5:30PM
Takes off where the original left off. More challenging exercises from the best-selling book "Total Control" plus some exciting new ones mean the students will take their riding to a whole new level.
Topics covered include:
- Riding Psychology
- Speed Shifting
- Trail Braking into a Turn
- Decreasing Arc Mid-Corner
- Decreasing Radius Turns
- Chassis Setup
- Quick Stops
- TC Solo
In TC Solo, we combine the skills from Level 1 and 2, and experience them at significantly higher speeds, mimicking the g-forces of track riding.

News where he road tested every new street motorcycle available in the U.S. and became one of the top performance-testing journalists in the world. Lee's staff of personally trained instructors are located all over the U.S. and Europe and bring with them an impressive list of riding and teaching credentials. Lee is now the president of Lee Parks Design, a motorcycle gear and accessory manufacturer.
