Overview - READ FIRST PLEASE!
The primary goal of our Track Days is for you to have FUN ... and hopefully learn a few things that will make you a better and safer rider on the street. We cater to the first time trackday rider, as well as the responsible veteran rider that knows his or her limit. If you think the track is the place to race with your buddies, or to show everyone that you're the fastest... then you will not have a good experience with us. IMPORTANT: We do not allow any inside passing in any of our groups. Click on the TRACK INFORMATION links to see our passing rules for each track. If you generally ride with a Trackday organization without passing rules, please email me BEFORE registering so we can make sure that you'll have a fun day within our rules structure. NOTE: Track Days run in partnership with TPM (Team Promotion) will follow their group rules. In general, the same rules apply for Beginner and Intermediate groups. The Advanced TPM group does not have the inside passing restriction, but riders must be placed into that group. Our philosophy is this: We understand that "tip overs" can happen at a Track Day, but there is absolutely no excuse for taking someone else with you. Most of the people that ride with us do so because of the environment we've created. They appreciate that they are not going to be on the track with a bunch of kids trying to be the next Valentino Rossi. Our average rider is a mentally mature and responsible motorcyclist that wants to have fun and improve their riding skills. This does not mean we don't have highly-skilled and very fast riders in our experienced group. But they know when it's appropriate to let it all hang out... and when it's not. They also appreciate the more relaxed atmosphere of our events, and knowing that you can tip it in for the corner and not have someone stuffing you at the last minute. To encourage a more relaxed and "fun" environment for all riding levels, we have strict safety rules in place.
We discourage onboard lap timing. We want you focused on your riding and your skills, not looking down to see how fast your last lap was. This is NOT a competition. The focus is on improving your key bike handling skills (acceleration, braking, and cornering). Access to your laptimes when you're not on the bike is encouraged as a valuable tool to judge your improvement from day to day... and year to year. The focus is on the "average" laptimes... not getting in one "hot lap". If you are an "experienced" licensed Road Racer thinking you can get in some hot practice laps, this is NOT the Track Day for you. We cater to the street rider and have strict rules regarding passing. We do NOT have a "racer group", so please do not sign up thinking you'll get some good race practice laps. However, as a former racer myself, I understand that some racers (especially the more mature ones) are able to "flip the switch" off and enjoy a trackday without going all out. So if this is you, or if you have just gotten your license and are looking for some track time in a NON-COMPETITIVE environment, then you may sign up. Be aware that you will be watched closely to ensure the rules are followed and other riders are comfortable with your behavior. Still here? Great! You're probably the right type of person for our events, so please proceed by using the LINKS on the left to learn more or to register. |
